A New Site to Know: 603 Here & There

My friend Amy gave me the scoop about her friend’s new website, 603 Here & There, so I wanted to share it with you.  After many years of living in NYC and working in the design world at an innovative textile company, Nell Dodge decided to take a few months off to travel overseas.  Her adventures led her back to the States to the countryside of New Hampshire, a place she now calls home.

Fusing her love for good design, the streets of NYC, the stone sidewalks of Paris and the dirt roads of New England, 603 Here & There’s e-shop brings you an edited range of fun, unique, and chic items that make great gifts as well as useful products in your own kitchen just in time for the holidays!

When I was looking through Nell’s site, I kept thinking about the movie, Julie & Julia, and Paris so I asked Nell to share her favorite Parisian chic recipe and what items she would use on her site to make her dish (Maple Tart Tatin!!).  I also had a few questions for Nell, which she kindly answered.

Oscar de la Renta’s Resort Drink of Choice

As Designer Resort collections are hitting stores this month, On MyPlate decided to take us on a fashionable trip to the beach.

Tortuga Bay Private Beach & Vacation Villas at the Puntacana Resort & Club in the Dominican Republic was designed by Oscar de la Renta and offers 30 suites in 13 Villas on miles of private beach overlooking the Caribbean Sea with a championship golf course designed by the legendary Tom Fazio, a luxury spa, and eight world class restaurants.  Mr. de la Renta infused his Dominican heritage with his impeccable attention to detail and design in every aspect of the resort, just like his runway collections.  He played off the natural beauty and colors of the rich landscape (even down to the drinks!) to create the ultimate island getaway.

The Resort recently introduced the Devil’s Elbow to all of their cocktail menus.  Made of equal parts Brugal Blanco Dominican Rum, Vodka, Blue Curaçao with fresh lime & orange juices, the Devil’s Elbow mirrors the same blue-green color of the gorgeous Sea it’s situated upon and is named after the resort’s infamous final three holes of the Corales golf course.  If you make the drink at home, the Resort recommends you pair it with fresh fish.

And I just love the two looks above from the Oscar de la Renta Resort 2012 Collection.  Too perfect for the drink and the resort!!

Closets & Pantries: Dose Market’s Emily Fiffer & April Francis

Emily Fiffer and April Francis are two of the four “Dosettes” taking Chicago by storm since launching Dose Market this summer, a food and fashion market that sets up one Sunday a month spotlighting a meticulously curated group of entrepreneurs and artisans who work and live in Chicago. Every Dose features new vendors so each month the market is different, making it a unique shopping experience every time.  Their goal for Dose is to be a destination for shoppers once a month, a place for people to discover the best of the best.

I’ve attended a few Sundays at Dose Market and have had a blast experiencing what Chicago has to offer in food and fashion.  I wanted to know more about the Market as well as what Emily and April have in their pantry and closet, respectively.  Here’s what they had to say:
